I ordered the beef lumpia and pancit with pork belly. The pancit has really good flavor and the the pork belly was soft and tender. The lumpia was very good too. I will definitely be back to try more
I went to my first First Friday’s and stopped by Auntie Nings! They had super crispy flavourful beef lumpia (longer ones)! I was also suprised at how delicious the veggie lumpia’s (shorter ones) were too since there was no meat! Don’t forget to eat it with the sauce it comes cause u can never get too saucey. They were super helpful & informative since I was so indecisive about what to order between the chicken adobo and pancit. They offered to accommodate and gave me the chicken adobo and pancit together in one portion instead! Matamis is also sold alongside Ning’s which they have some bakery items! I got the red velvet and the chocolate cookie with the gummy worm! My friend got the bar with the purple and it melts in ur mouth and isn’t too chocolately where it itches my throat but the perfect amount where it’s still like creamy 😀 Her instagram page @matamisrva also has more pictures of desserts and custom orders which i’ll definitely have to check out! Hopefully I’ll be able to go to their pop ups again! Hoping I can try the Ube cheesecake from Matamis next time and the Lechon from Auntie Ning’s!
Never had Filipino food before. Slid through and got the Chicken Afritada and an order of Beef Lumpia. Had to wait a little longer for the lumpia because they dropped them in fresh oil, but it was worth it. Think altogether it was roughly 23 before tip, Worth every penny. They also have vegan options, if that's your thing.
I literally never write reviews for anything but this place was SO GOOD that I have to. Went with a couple others to their grand opening of their brick and mortar- the food was absolutely delicious and way better than I was expecting honestly. Also, shout out to Auntie Ning’s for having a very clear and understandable answer around allergens- they’re safe if you have a nut allergy!! This was very exciting for me and I can’t wait to go back. (We got the chili garlic pancit, the lechon, veggie lumpia, and a chicken dish I can’t remember the name of. They were all truly amazing!)
The food was very good. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood. The service was top notch too. Favorite dish was the Ginataang Gulay.
Had no idea what to expect as I’d never had Filipino food before. Auntie Ning’s blew my socks off it was so good!! The lechon kawali was incredible and the lumpia were perfectly crispy. We will be back very soon!
I was fully expecting a Filipino family running the place but customer service was really great anyway. Beautiful artwork adorned the wall and the backyard was open to sit in. The veggie lumpia was delicious especially with the sauce. The pancit was very flavorful. The chicken on it was a bit overcooked so I’ll skip that next time. However they do have vegan options that are tasty.
Asked for recommendations from the employees and they did not disappoint. Food was flavorful and filling. Friendly, down to earth folks. I know the family personally and Fred is a cool dude making his family proud. I can tell everything is cooked with love. Close to VCU. Students please pull up & visit.
Just ate here and really enjoyed it. This was my first time at a Filipino restaurant and it was great. I had the spicy porkbelly pancit and the beef lumpia. Both delicious. Very friendly staff and nice outdoor seating. Will be back!
Very nice Filipino comfort food! I would bring my family and friends here. We all left the place feeling full and satisfied. We came on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn’t too busy.
